Join the Brenham Heritage Museum and the Texas Master Naturalist Gideon Lincecum Chapter for “Bird Nest ID and Nest Box Tips,” an informative lunch workshop presented by Texas Master Naturalist Ken English. Drawing on more than 20 years of bird observation and nest box management, Ken will explore the nesting habits of birds commonly found in Washington County, discuss effective nest box management, and share practical construction tips and lessons learned from providing supplemental shelter for songbirds.
The workshop will be held on Wednesday, August 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Tegeler Bus Depot Gallery, 313 E. Alamo St., Brenham. Admission is $15 per person and includes lunch. Space is limited. Reserve your spot today!

Dr. Paul Spellman returns to the Brenham Heritage Museum on Thursday, July 30, 2026, to present a guest lecture entitled: The Texas Rangers Ride Into the 20th Century. Touching on his two books on Captains John H. Rogers and J.A. Brooks, Dr. Spellman takes the audience on a tour through the history of the Texas Rangers during the late 1800s-early 1900s. Wild-West antics and varied stories abound! This event is $15 for non-members and free for members. To register, simply visit https://www.bhmtexas.org/programs-and-events/upcoming-programs. Refreshments will be provided before the lecture, beginning at 5:30 pm. Copies of Dr. Paul Spellman’s books will be available for sale before and after the lecture.
