MURALS OF DOWNTOWN BRENHAM

The colorful murals in Downtown Brenham are a favorite attraction and photo-op. Most of the murals are products of the annual Texas Arts & Music Festival.

OLD BAYLOR PARK

This historic site was the first location for the female campus at Baylor University. Its massive stone columns survive today, and are the famous ruins at Old Baylor Park. Fields of wildflowers and towering oak trees make this site perfect for a picnic or for pictures.
THE ANTIQUE CAROUSEL

One of Brenham’s cherished attractions is the antique carousel at Fireman’s Park. This beautifully restored, hand-carved wooden carousel dates back to the early 1900s and is a nostalgic delight for both children and adults. Open Saturdays & Sundays March 1 – May 31, and Saturdays June 1 – October 31. Rides are $1 each.
TOUBIN PARK

Beneath Brenham streets is a large system of historic cisterns built in the late 1800s to store rainwater for public fire fighting. Toubin Park offers a peek into one of these cisterns. Beautiful landscaping, exposed bricks, and the cistern itself make this unique pocket park a prime place for photos in Downtown Brenham.
290 W Rest Stop & Park

This rest stop located between Brenham and Burton on Highway 290 West, offers a beautifully shaded picnic area and a wet-weather creek with a rock bed. One of the prettiest rest stops in Texas, it is a great location for pictures. Just keep an eye out for snakes near the water!
