Friday, July 3

First Friday Farmer & Artisan Market in Downtown Brenham, 4-7pm

with a backdrop of historic buildings and modern murals, shoppers stroll at the First Friday Farmer & Artisan Market in Downtown Brenham

Start your 4th of July weekend early with Downtown Brenham’s very first THEMED First Friday Farmer’s Market on July 3rd! The market is going all in on red, white, and blue! Grab your holiday weekend snacks, fresh produce, and patriotic treats straight from your favorite local farmers and artisans. The kids will love the Uncle Sam’s Kids Zone with games and prizes. Wear your favorite red, white, and blue gear and come celebrate!

Saturday, July 4

Mini-cow Cuddles at Milk & Honey Ranch, 9 – 11am

Experience mini-cow cuddles at Milk & Honey Ranch with a patriotic Red, White & Moo twist. Guests will enjoy a mini highland cow cuddles experience and receive one hot dog per guest.

1850 Independence Day Picnic at Barrington Living History Farm, 10am – 4pm

Visitors on a sunny day enjoy Texas history at Washington on the Brazos state historic site
Head to Washington, Texas, for an 1850s-style Independence Day celebration! Bring your own picnic basket to Barrington and enjoy al-fresco dining, then try your hand at some yard games and races (don’t miss the “pig bladder” toss)! Next, head over to Independence Hall for an ongoing game of “rounders” (like baseball), with hourly readings of the Declaration of Independence followed by musket salutes.

Chappell Hill Independence Day Parade, 10 -11am

Celebrate 250 years of American independence at the “Biggest Little Small Town Parade” in Texas! Head to downtown Chappell Hill this July 4th for a patriotic celebration like no other. Enjoy the famous Marching Kazoo Band, amazing parade entries, and a small town tradition with big spirit. Face painter, food trucks, live music, and Paul Revere’s Scavenger Hunt immediately following the parade.

 

American Legion Revolutionary War Plaque Dedication at Fireman’s Park Memorial Plaza, 2 -3pm

This ceremony honors the American Revolutionary War Patriots with a bronze plaque. Staged speakers and music. Sponsored by the Captain Jabez Deming Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Stars over Washington County with Escape: A Tribute to Journey, at Washington County Fairgrounds, 6 – 11pm

Finish Independence Day with live music and an incredible fireworks display at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Gates at Washington County Expo open at 6 pm.  Enjoy vendors, patriotic music, and presentations. The concert begins at 8 pm featuring Escape: A Tribute to Journey. Fireworks begin at 9:20 pm. Bring your lawnchairs to this FREE family-friendly event.

Thomas Jefferson Living History Program at The Barnhill Center, 3-4pm
