Friendship Quilt Guild Show: Juried Contemporary – Traditional Quilt Show. Quilts for sale, boutique, vendors, door prizes. Hospice Brazos Valley Charity Quilt Challenge. The donation quilt is called “Lucky Stars” pattern, design by Linda Jenkins and Becky Goldsmith from Piece O’ Cake Designs. The quilt is 80″x80″ and was pieced and hand appliqued by guild members and custom quilted by Helen Rode. Photography by Deborah Wallace. Admission $12, children under 12 free. The Republic of Texas is No More

Join us as we commemorate the 180th anniversary of Texas Statehood. On February 19, 1846, Anson Jones lowered the Texas flag and raised the American flag, signifying the end of the Republic of Texas. While this event happened in Austin, the groundwork for Texas’ Annexation happened while Washington was the Capital. We will have our own American flag raising in front of Hatfield’s Exchange, and readings of Anson Jones’ speech at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm. The Chappell Hill Farmers Market is a monthly, community-driven market held on the second Saturday of each month in historic Chappell Hill, Texas. The event brings together local farmers, ranchers, artisans, food vendors, and families for a morning centered on supporting small businesses, strengthening local agriculture, and fostering meaningful community connection.

A core part of the market’s mission is preservation. Proceeds from the event are donated directly to the Chappell Hill Historical Society to support the protection, maintenance, and continuation of the town’s historic sites and cultural heritage.

BirdDog is proud to bring this market to life each month — connecting people, supporting local vendors, and reinvesting proceeds back into the Chappell Hill Historical Society to protect the town’s heritage.
