Brenham is a certified “Film Friendly Texas” Community
Participation in the Texas Film Commission’s Film Friendly Texas program provides Texas communities with a valuable network and resources to attract on-location filming for movies, television, commercials, and digital media. Certification demonstrates that Brenham is serious about supporting the film industry and promoting local economic growth through media production.
Visit Brenham, the area’s Destination Marketing Organization (DMO), led the effort to complete the multi-step certification process. As of April 2025, Brenham is officially recognized as a Film Friendly Texas community by the Texas Film Commission and the Office of the Governor.
“Being recognized as a Film Friendly Texas community is an exciting step forward for Brenham,” said Kathrine Briscoe, Tourism & Marketing Manager for Visit Brenham. “We’re proud of the unique character our city offers—from historic buildings to rolling landscapes—and we’re ready to welcome filmmakers looking for authentic Texas charm. This designation opens the door for new opportunities that can benefit our community and local businesses.”
“Helping secure this designation has been such a rewarding experience,” added Elayne Grisbee, Destination & Partner Coordinator for Visit Brenham. “It’s not just about attracting film crews—it’s about sharing Brenham’s story with a broader audience and highlighting what makes our community special. We’re excited for what this could mean for the future of our town.”
Visit Brenham will serve as the official liaison between the City of Brenham and the Texas Film Commission, helping coordinate location support and local resources for incoming productions.
Brenham now joins a growing list of Film Friendly Texas cities — further cementing its place as a destination with both heart and cinematic appeal.
