Texas Needs Your Vote! Delegate Election Day

 Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site

On February 1st, 1836, an election was held Texas wide to elect delegates to attend the Convention of 1836 at Washington. The men elected to this convention would declare independence from Mexico and write the Constitution for the Republic of Texas. Join us as we recreate the election that happened in Washington Municipality. After learning about the candidates, cast your vote, and place it in our ballot box. The votes will be tallied at the end of the day and posted on our Facebook page to compare to the actual election results.
