Come celebrate history in the making at the 37th Annual Burton Cotton Gin Festival on Saturday, April 18th, 2025. This charming small-town Texas festival is FREE and family-friendly, featuring a parade, live music, contests, games, arts and crafts, delicious food and drinks, an antique tractor pull, an engine show, and classic cars on display. Join us for guided tours of the Gin structure from 11 AM to 2 PM. Also at 3 PM, you can watch the 1914 Burton Farmers Gin in action as it processes a bale of cotton!

The Blue Bell Fun Run began in 1978 to benefit the Brenham High School Athletic program and did so for many years. Today, the run serves a broader community by fostering the physical health of and instilling good character in the youth of Washington County. Run for the Youth of Washington County sponsors events like the Blue Bell Fun Run, and conducts and provides charitable and other non-profit programs and activities in Washington County. Brenham High School athletes serve as volunteers for the race.

At 10:30 AM and again at 4:00 PM, families of all ages are invited to help us release thousands of live ladybugs into the gardens. Before each release, we’ll host a short 10–15 minute, kid-friendly presentation where little gardeners (and curious grown-ups!) can learn why ladybugs are such powerful allies in the garden and how they help with natural pest control. We’ll also have coloring sheets available for kiddos to enjoy. Want to bring the magic home? Live ladybugs will be available for purchase in our Gift Shop so you can start your own backyard pest patrol.
Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or simply looking for a sweet spring memory to make with your family, the Ladybug Release is a joyful way to welcome the season together!
