Journey to the other side of the plantation and learn what foods Mary, Jerry, or Willis would prepare for themselves in the Quarter. Texas Needs Your Vote! Delegate Election Day

 Event Details

On February 1st, 1836, an election was held Texas wide to elect delegates to attend the Convention of 1836 at Washington. The men elected to this convention would declare independence from Mexico and write the Constitution for the Republic of Texas. Join us as we recreate the election that happened in Washington Municipality. After learning about the candidates, cast your vote, and place it in our ballot box. The votes will be tallied at the end of the day and posted on our Facebook page to compare to the actual election results. Crocket Comes to Town

In late January 1836, the Tennessee Mounted Volunteers under William Harrison’s command arrived in Washington on their way to San Antonio and the Alamo. Among them was the famed frontiersman and former congressman, David Crockett. Join us January 24, as reenactors portray Crockett and the Tennessee Mounted Volunteers and their stay in Washington. Wade Dillon will portray Crockett and will be offering autographs of Crockett’s signature throughout the day.
