Burton Cotton Gin Festival

This charming small-town Texas festival is FREE and family-friendly, featuring a parade, live music, contests, games, arts and crafts, delicious food and drinks, an antique tractor pull, an engine show, and classic cars on display. Join us for guided tours of the Gin structure from 11 AM to 2 PM. Also at 3 PM, you can watch the 1914 Burton Farmers Gin in action as it processes a bale of cotton!

Texas Independence Day

Experience everything you love about our annual Texas Independence Day Celebration, along with all our new renovations. Start with the opening ceremony and parade at 10:30am, followed by great performances at the Amphitheater and Barrington Living History Farm throughout the day. Enjoy demonstrations, activities, and scenes from the Convention of 1836 at the new Washington Townsite Experience. Tour the Star of the Republic Museum’s new amazing exhibits, including a special display of the Ark of the Covenant of the Texas Declaration of Independence, a box made from the original Independence Hall. Don’t forget to shop and eat at some of our wonderful vendors and food trucks! You won’t want to miss this fun-filled weekend!

Echoes of Independence – A Lantern Tour

On this candlelit, lantern tour you will witness historic scenes surrounding the creation of a new nation! Meet David Crockett during his stay in Washington on his way to the Alamo. Speak with George C. Childress as he works on the Declaration of Independence. Watch the growing friendship of Lorenzo de Zavala and William Fairfax Gray and experience the drama and chaos of the Runaway Scrape. See all of this among the wonderful night time backdrop of the newly created Washington Townsite Experience. (Ticket information coming soon)

15th Annual Texas Ranger Day

Blue Bell Fun Run

The Blue Bell Fun Run began in 1978 to benefit the Brenham High School Athletic program and did so for many years. Today, the run serves a broader community by fostering the physical health of and instilling good character in the youth of Washington County. Run for the Youth of Washington County sponsors events like the Blue Bell Fun Run, and conducts and provides charitable and other non-profit programs and activities in Washington County. Brenham High School athletes serve as volunteers for the race.

The Bluebonnet Garden Club warmly invites the community to its 2026 Flower Show, “These Are a Few of My Favorite Things,” a joyful celebration of creativity, color and community spirit. Guests will enjoy stumming floral designs showcasing “favorite things” of Garde Club members through floral artistry. Tickets are $!5 and may be purchased from any Garden Club member or online. Proceeds directly support Brenham ISD scholarships and a variety of community beautification and enrichment projects.
