Barrington Plantation State Historic Site
Though in the 1850’s brightly colored and beautifully patterned cloth was readily imported from the mills of England, time in the Texas sun would take its toll. Discover how the Jones family, and those enslaved at Barrington, could easily refresh their faded clothing using dyes made with natural items from near and far. Demonstrations ongoing throughout the day.
